1 – Open-air venues at the Humboldt Forum: Schlüterhof, Passage & Spreeterrassen
Outdoors – yet in the heart of the city. On the site of Berlin’s former City Palace, the stunning design of the new Humboldt Forum incorporates three impressive spaces for open-air events. Set at the heart of the Humboldt Forum, the Schlüterhof courtyard is inspired by baroque architecture and named after Andreas Schlüter, the City Palace’s original architect. The Passage, the second internal public space, combines elements of the baroque and contemporary and connects the southern Schlossplatz square with the Lustgarten to the north. Just above the Spree, the Spreeterrassen are located directly on the riverbank - this event location in Berlin Mitte is the perfect place to linger.

2 – The James-Simon-Galerie – Gateway to a cultural highlight
The James Simon Gallery is the Museum Island’s new entrance complex. Designed by David Chipperfield Architects, it is named after James Simon, one of the most important patrons of Berlin’s museums. Depending on the exhibition architecture, event planners can use various rooms in the building as well as the inner courtyard for up to 1,500 guests as an event venue in Berlin Mitte.

3 – The Unter den Linden State Library – Inspiring conversations
With three event halls for up to 300 people, the Staatsbibliothek unter den Linden reopened its doors in 2021 after extensive construction and renovation work. The historic building dates back to the former ‘Churfürstliche Bibliothek zu Cölln an der Spree’ and is now one of the most important libraries in the world with over 11 million volumes spanning more than 360 years. Another building, the State Library on Potsdamer Strasse, can be used as an event venue in Berlin Mitte - in the immediate vicinity of the Neue Nationalgalerie.

4 – Historic and yet completely modern - the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin Mitte
After almost six years of renovation and modernisation, the Neue Nationalgalerie reopened in August 2022. Designed in glass and steel by renowned architect Mies van der Rohe, the New National Gallery was unveiled in the late 1960s as the first building on Berlin’s Cultural Forum. This impressive structure, in the tradition of Bauhaus architecture, is hosting exhibitions of masterpieces of twentieth-century art. It also offers special tours and events for several hundred guests indoors or up to 3500 guests on the spreading outdoor terrace. This makes the Nationalgalerie one of the largest event venues in Berlin Mitte.

5 – Friedrichswerder Church – Dining in a neo-gothic setting
Not far from the new Humboldt Forum is the Friedrichswerder Church, the exhibition hall of the Alte Nationalgalerie. After comprehensive refurbishment, the Friedrichswerder Church, close to the Humboldt Forum, reopened in autumn 2020 as a branch of the Old National Gallery. Visitors can admire sculptures from the neo-Gothic era in the red-brick Schinkel building from the early 19th century. The picturesquely illuminated church room with its high pointed arch windows is also the perfect venue in Berlin Mitte for dinner events with up to 100 guests.
